Fruit is a perfect "kid food": beautiful, sweet, delicious AND healthy!
Kids tend to eat the same fruit over and over, which is why it's important to choose organic fruit when possible; childrens' developing bodies are especially vulnerable to environmental toxins, like the pesticide residues found on many conventional fruits. It's also a great idea to expose your kids to as many different kinds of produce as possible; it helps children learn how delicious different fruits can taste, and each offers its own unique combination of healthy vitamins and minerals to build strong bodies and active minds.
This delicious dip has only 3 ingredients, and kids of just about any age can make it themselves by putting the yogurt, maple syrup and vanilla in a bowl and stirring with a teaspoon until they're well combined. It goes well with every fruit, from apples to apricots, grapes to guavas, strawberries to star fruit. And when fruit isn't at its absolute best (a less-than-sweet peach or a slightly soft apple, for example), the dip helps conceal the imperfections and ensure it's still a delicious treat!
|1/2 cup||organic plain yogurt|
|2 tablespoons||maple syrup|
|1/8 teaspoon||pure vanilla extract|
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and serve.
