Divine Dips for Fresh Strawberries - Cointreau Sauce


A simple but delicious dessert is as easy as setting out a tray of luscious fresh strawberries with some flavorful dipping sauces. Although warm chocolate is traditional, try one of these cold dips if you don't feel like heating up the kitchen. For a more personalized presentation, serve each guest their own bowl of berries and individual ramekins of sauces.


1/2 cup sour cream or crème fraîche
3 tablespoons brown sugar (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 tablespoon Cointreau or orange liqueur


To make each sauce, combine the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk to blend until smooth. Make sure the sugar has dissolved completely. Refrigerate until serving time. Makes about 1/2 cup of dipping sauce.
