1 1/2 pounds (about 10) firm-ripe apricots (halved lengthwise and pitted)
2 large eggs
1/3 cup crème fraîche or sour cream
1/3 cup heavy (whipping) cream
1 teaspoon pure almond extract
2 tablespoons 1/4 stick unsalted butter (preferably European plugrá, melted)
