The Question of GMOs
At Earthbound Farm, we believe that you have the right to know how your food is grown and what it contains, so you can make truly informed decisions about what you eat.
That’s been true since the very beginning. When Earthbound Farm started in a backyard garden back in 1984, our founders wanted to raise healthy, delicious food that they’d be proud to serve to family, friends and neighbors. And that meant farming organically.
- No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
- No irradiation
- No genetically modified organisms
Today, many conventional foods in the US contain genetically modified ingredients; for example, much of this country’s soy and corn crop is GMO. And even though the long-term safety of GMO foods isn’t known, these products don’t have to be labeled — at least, not yet.
Currently, your only assurance that your food has not been genetically modified is buying organic.
Learn about the issues surrounding GMO foods at JustLabelIt.org, a coalition of more than 600 organizations and companies calling on the FDA to require labeling of GMO foods. Take action on that site, if you like, or vote with your pocketbook in stores where you shop. At Earthbound we believe that it's everyone's right to know what's in our food.
