It’s June: yay, summer! And it’s Fresh Fruit & Vegetables Month: yummy & healthy! Put those things together, and what do you have? Time to eat outside!

Here are some advantages to moving your meal outdoors:

  • Take a happy break! Eating outside is a proven natural mood booster and stress reliever. Bring a portable lunch from home (a healthy wrap or a salad, fresh whole fruit or veggies) and get out. Even short walks have health benefits. You’ll return to work refreshed and refocused.
  • Cool it at dinner! Grab the kids for an impromptu picnic in the backyard. Why not plan a no-cook dinner built around a meal-size salad? Easier cleanup…and no slaving over a hot stove!
  • Fire up the flavor! Dad’s traditional culinary specialty works delicious magic on meat, fish and veggies (fruit, too!), and moving the heat outside keeps the kitchen cool. It’s also a terrific way to cook extra foods for use in other recipes later in the week.
