Every day our bodies produce substances called free radicals; over time, the damage they do to our healthy cells contributes to aging and chronic diseases like heart disease, macular degeneration, diabetes and cancers. 

Free radicals are a result of normal body functions directly related to our diet, lifestyle and environment. The good news: good nutrition — including plenty of antioxidants (nutrients like vitamins A, C and E, selenium, carotenoids and flavonoids) — can help neutralize their effects and reduce the damage.
