Working with Nature instead of relying on chemicals

All farmers face the challenges of nourishing their crops, controlling weeds and protecting their plants from diseases and pests. As organic farmers, we not only use different tools to raise our crops, we have a different philosophy: working with Nature, instead of against it.

Modern organic farmers are masters of ecology and soil science, using techniques that build healthy soil and incorporate environmentally friendly alternatives to the toxic synthetic chemicals used in conventional agriculture. Our methods tend to be more costly and labor-intensive in the short run, but it’s well worth the effort: organic farming avoids serious — and even more costly — long-term issues like groundwater pollution, soil erosion, loss of biodiversity and human health problems caused by exposure to chemical residues.

So while organic food may end up costing a bit more in the grocery store, we believe that organic is the healthiest, and ultimately the most cost-effective choice for people and the planet.
