Mango Margaritas
Serves 4 (about 4 cups)

Although you can buy bottled mango margarita mix, it doesn't really taste like fresh mangos. It's so easy to make your own concoction that when mangos are in season, it's worth the time to make this popular cocktail from scratch! The base can be made several hours ahead.

1 cup fresh mango purée (from 2 mangos)

1/2 cup good-quality tequila

1/2 cup frozen limeade concentrate, thawed

1/4 cup Triple Sec or Grand Marnier

Cracked or crushed ice

Coarse salt or coarse sugar for rimming glasses, optional

Combine the mango purée, tequila, limeade concentrate, and Triple Sec in a blender and process until smooth. The base can be covered and refrigerated for up to 8 hours before serving.

Before serving, rim 4 glasses with salt or sugar, if you like.

To serve, pour the chilled mango base into a clean blender and add 3 cups of ice. Process until the mixture is slushy. Pour the margaritas into the prepared glasses and serve immediately.
