Strawberry, Mango, and Mint Smoothie
Serves 2

Pureéd fruits and juices make a quick and healthy breakfast for busy people. Use this recipe as your basic guide; the combinations are limitless! Substitute nonfat frozen yogurt for the plain yogurt, if you like, and then you can reduce the quantity of ice cubes by half. Experiment with different juices or try soy milk (especially good with bananas). Take advantage of your favorite fruits in season, although frozen fruits also work extremely well.



1 cup sliced strawberries

1 mango, peeled and cubed

1 cup strawberry or pineapple juice

2/3 cup nonfat plain yogurt

1 tablespoon minced fresh mint leaves

1 cup crushed ice or ice cubes

Honey or sugar, to taste



Combine all ingredients except the honey in a blender. Process until smooth. Taste the smoothie; if it needs sweetening, add honey or sugar, and blend again for 20 seconds.
