Unique Local Crops

The bountiful fields surrounding the Farm Stand are tended with care by “Farmer Mark” Marino, a dedicated and imaginative farmer with over 25 years’ experience in organic agriculture. Since 1997, Farmer Mark has explored many unusual varieties of organic fruits, vegetables, and flowers, including:

  • Pink lemons
  • Golden raspberries
  • 12 varieties of heirloom potatoes
  • 50+ varieties of pumpkins and squash
  • 60+ varieties of lettuce
  • 100+ varieties of flowers
While he grows some ingredients for our famous salad mixes, such as radicchio and cilantro, most of Farmer Mark’s very special farm-fresh produce is sold at the Farm Stand and to local chefs. Got a question about organic farming? Ask Farmer Mark.

Delicious Organic Food

In addition to stocking a full selection of organic produce, organic and gourmet groceries, an imaginative array of gifts, and spectacular organic flowers, our Farm Stand features a certified organic kitchen offering delicious foods prepared on the premises and an all-organic salad bar.

Explore the Grounds

Around the Farm Stand are a Cut-Your-Own Herb Garden, a chamomile aromatherapy Walking Labyrinth, and a Kids’ Garden brimming with touchable, child-friendly foliage.

What’s Happening at the Farm Stand

During our peak growing season from April through October, we host special events every Saturday. Check out our Saturday Event Calendar.

Chef Walks and Harvest Walks feature local chefs and visiting culinary personalities who accompany eager food lovers through our fields to harvest seasonal produce — afterward, the chef demonstrates ways to prepare it all with gourmet flair.

Bug Walks turn everyone into a crop helper as visitors help us release squadrons of beneficial insects like ladybugs into our fields.

Plus:

  • In honor of Earth Day this year, we dedicated the whole month of April, 2008 to sharing tips and information about easy, healthy choices we all can make to protect the Earth. And we donated 5% of Farm Stand sales to a different environmentally focused nonprofit organization each week.
  • In July, we celebrate Earthbound Farm’s roots as a raspberry farm — and the joys of eating fresh, ripe berries — in Raspberry Revelry!
  • September's Corn Crazy marks the opening of Carmel Valley’s only organic corn maze.
  • In October, the Farm Stand transforms into a pumpkin-filled playground for Harvest Festival, our biggest celebration of the year.
